Welcome to the information pages about the Women's Bridge Festival presented by the World Bridge Federation and BBO, created by Anna Maria Torlontano, Chairman of the WBF Women’s Committee, with the technical organisation by Vincenzo Delle Cave BBO Italy and Galy Ivanova Manager of Sky Club.
Players from all the WBF Zones are invited to participate in Pairs and Individual Championships.
As this is such a prestigious event, WBF Online Master Points will be awarded to the top 20 places on the overall ranking.

There will be 4 daily tournaments: 2 individual tournaments followed by 2 pairs tournaments. It is allowed to play in pairs tournaments with different partners. The Festival will last one week, from 12th – 18th April 2010 and will include a total of 28 tournaments at the following times:
Individual Tournament 11.00 hours
Individual Tournament 16.10 hours
Pairs Tournament 20.00 hours
Pairs Tournament 0.40 hours

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: read carefully before taking the next steps !

  1. The players who already are a registered member of BBO, have to register only once for the Women's Online Bridge Club by filling in the registration form using their BBO nick. In any case, every player still has to register for each tournament they would like to play.
  2. All other players have to register according to the procedure detailed below in order to become a club member: at first register at the BBO website and then register for the Women's Online Bridge Club.
  3. If you are a member of the Women's Online Bridge Club you don't need to register for the Online Festival. The Women's Online Bridge Club and the Online Festival are one entity (database) meaning that members of the Women's Online Bridge Club are allowed to participate in the Online Festival without further registration. Women who in the past just registered for the Festival have automatically become a member of the Women's Online Bridge Club and do not have to register once more to participate in the Online Festival.
  4. Both players (partners) have to be online at the moment of registeration for the pairs tournament. If not, the pair cannot participate!

To connect to BBO website and to become a member please use the new flash interface click on this link: http://www.bridgebase.com/client/client.php. Membership of BBO is free of charge. You will get a unique BBO NICK, that you need to register for the International Women's Online Bridge Club.

  1. REGISTRATION FOR THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S ONLINE BRIDGE CLUB/ONLINE FESTIVAL

Participation in the tournaments of the International Women's Online Bridge Club is restricted to those women players who filled in the registration form. After registration your nick will in due course be shown on the "Registered Nicks" page. If not, ask the TD to manually authorize your nick so you can play in the next tourney.

The entry fee is fixed at $1 (the standard fee for all the normal BBO pay tournaments).

In addition to the rankings of each tournament, cumulated rankings will be prepared as follows:
  • Pairs Championship cumulated ranking (in any case it will be an individual ranking because of the fact that it is possible to play pairs tournaments with different partners!)
  • Individual Championship cumulated ranking
  • Overall cumulated ranking (combined ranking between Pairs & Individual)

10 Boards will be played in each tournament.To see the rankings of all the tournaments, the score sheets of the hands and the "bridge movie" (the bidding/play history for a deal) of each hand click on the BBO Website.
No kibitzers will be allowed during the tournaments.

1. Only registered members of a National Bridge Federation are eligible to received WBF Online Master Points.

2. The winners will be contacted after the Festival as additional information will be needed to award the Points.
The Points will be awarded according to the following scale:

3. Free subscriptions to BBO tournaments are offered as prizes for the overall Pairs and Individual rankings:
1st - 10 BBO $
2nd -8 BBO $
3rd - 6 BBO $
4th - 4 BBO $
 
4. BBO Master Points will be awarded  based on the size of the field.
5. Certificates will be awarded to the overall winners, runners up and 3rd place. In addition to the certificates (which will be sent by email to the winners and will also be available on the page "Certificates" of this website), the overall winners may submit their photographs by email, and these will be published on this website.
