Important messages: read carefully before taking the next steps!
The players who registered on the BBO website for the Women's Bridge Festival April 2008, do not have to register for the Women's Online Bridge Club. By participating in the Festival they automatically became a member of the Women's Online Bridge Club. Verify if your nick is pesent on the "Registered Nicks" pages. In any case you still have to register for the tournaments you would like to play.

All other players have to register according to the procedure detailed below in order to become a member of our club. This application for membership could take some days for technical reasons, and so it is possible that you still will not be able to play in the first available Wednesday tournaments.
Please check to see if your nick is present in the "Registered Nicks" pages to be sure that you are able to play. In any case please don't stress the directors but wait until your name will appear in the list of registered nicks.

Both players (partners) have to be online at the moment of registeration for the pairs tournament. If not, the pair cannot participate!

- BBO SOFTWARE & REGISTRATION
To become a member having the BBO’s software installed on your pc is mandatory.
If you do not already have BBO's software please follow the instructions for downloading and installing. There is no charge for the software. You will get a unique BBO NICK, that you need to register for the International Women's Online Bridge Club.
- REGISTRATION FOR THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S ONLINE BRIDGE CLUB
Participation in the tournaments of the International Women's Online Bridge Club is restricted to those women players who filled out the registration form. After registration your nick will not be shown immediately on the Registered Nicks pages. All nicks are updated every week as the BBO database and the Women's Online Bridge club database do not synchronize. The moment of update is shown on the first page of the "Registered Nicks" pages: the digits/symbols page. To be sure to play verify if your nick is present on one of those pages.
- ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is fixed at $1 (the standard fee for all the normal BBO pay tournaments).

Every Wednesday, starting on November 5th 2008, there will be 4 daily tournaments: 2 pairs tournaments alternating with 2 individual tournaments with a monthly overall clasification. It is sustained to play with different partners in the pairs tournaments. The playing times are as follows:
Individual Tournament 11.00 hours
Pairs Tournament 16.30 hours
Pairs Tournament 20.00 hours
Individual Tournament 0.40 hours from Wednesday December 17th 2008 on!

In addition to the rankings of each tournament, cumulated monthly rankings will be prepared as follows:
- Pairs Championship cumulated monthly ranking (in any case it will be an individual ranking because of the fact that it is possible to play pairs tournaments with different partners!)
- Individual Championship cumulated monthly ranking
- Overall cumulated monthly ranking (combined ranking between Pairs & Individual). Overall classification according to the points that the players will get in all the tournaments that they will play.

10 Boards will be played in each tournament. The scoring of the tournaments is in IMPs or MP. In the tournament description is written which one is valid for that particular match and the TD will always clarify the format. To see the rankings of most recent tournaments, the score sheets of the hands and the "bridge movie" (the bidding/play history for a deal) of each hand click on the BBO Website.
No kibitzers will be allowed during the tournaments. |
