Women's Online World Bridge Club - Join us to play bridge online in a relaxed and social atmosphere

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: read carefully before taking the next steps !

The players who already are a registered member of BBO, have to register only once for the Women's Online World Bridge Festival by filling in the registration form using their BBO nick. In any case, every player still has to register for each tournament they would like to play.
All other players have to register according to the procedure detailed below in order to participate in the Women's Online World Bridge Festival: at first register at the BBO website and then register for the Women's Online World Bridge Festival.
If you have played in previous Women's Online World Bridge Festivals or if were a member of the Women's Online Bridge Club you don't need to register for this year's Women's Online World Bridge Festival. Your information is still kept in the database. To be sure check the "Registered Nick" tab.
Both players (partners) have to be online at the moment of registeration for the pairs tournament. If not, the pair cannot participate!

REGISTRATION FOR THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S ONLINE ONLINE FESTIVAL

To connect to BBO website and to become a member please use the new flash interface click on this link: http://www.bridgebase.com/client/client.php. Membership of BBO is free of charge. You will get a unique BBO NICK, that you need to register for the International Women's Online Bridge Club.

Participation in the tournaments of the International Women's Online Bridge Festival is restricted to those women players who filled in the registration form. After registration your nick will in due course be shown on the "Registered Nicks" page. If not, ask the TD to manually authorize your nick so you can play in the next tourney.

ENTRY FEE

The entry fee is fixed at $1 (the standard fee for all the normal BBO pay tournaments).

There will be 4 daily tournaments: 2 individual tournaments followed by 2 pairs tournaments.
It is allowed to play with different partners in pairs tournaments.
The Festival will last one week, from 15th – 21st April 2013 and will include a total of 28 tournaments at the following times:

11.00 - European Time (CEST) - Individual Tournament
16.10 - European Time (CEST) - Individual Tournament
20.00 - European Time (CEST) - Pairs Tournament
00.40 - European Time (CEST) - Pairs Tournament
05.00 - New York Time (EDT) - Individual Tournament
10.10 - New York Time (EDT) - Individual Tournament
14.00 - New York Time (EDT) - Pairs Tournament
18.40 - New York Time (EDT) - Pairs Tournament
21.00 - New South Wales, Australia - Individual Tournament
02.10 - New South Wales, Australia - Individual Tournament
06.00 - New South Wales, Australia - Pairs Tournament
10.40 – New South Wales, Australia - Pairs Tournament

This schedule is based on Italian local-time (CEST), New York Time (EDT) and New South Wales, Australian Time, so times will vary in other time-zones. For a list of the times of the tournaments in different places, click here.

In addition to the rankings of each tournament, cumulated rankings will be prepared as follows:

Pairs Championship cumulated ranking (in any case it will be an individual ranking because of the fact that it is possible to play pairs tournaments with different partners!)
Individual Championship cumulated ranking
Overall cumulated ranking (combined ranking between Pairs & Individual)
Players can play as many of the tournaments as they wish ... just one, or several or all of them. But the more you play the more chance you will have to be ranked well and the more master points you are likely to get! So do join us for as many as you can and enjoy the whole event !

10 Boards will be played in each tournament.To see the rankings of all the tournaments, the score sheets of the hands and the "bridge movie" (the bidding/play history for a deal) of each hand click on the BBO Website.

No kibitzers will be allowed during the tournaments.

The Awards and Prizes are as follows:

1. Free Entry to the 2013 European Women's Pairs Championship

We are really pleased that the President of the European Bridge League has agreed to offer us a prize of free entry to the 2013 European Women's Pairs Championship to be held in Ostend during the European Open Championships. The dates are 27th - 29th June and the winner of the overall classification will be awarded this prize, together with a partner of her choice. Should she be unable to accept the award, it will be offered to the 2nd placed player and if she, too, is unable to accept, to the 3rd placed player. There is no cash alternative, nor may the prize be accepted and then passed on to another player/pair.

2. WBF Online Master Points

Please note that only registered members of a National Bridge Federation are eligible to received WBF Online Master Points. The winners will be contacted after the Festival as additional information will be needed to award the Points.
The Points will be awarded in accordance with the following scale:

3. Free subscriptions to BBO tournaments are offered as prizes for the overall classification:

BB$ prizes will be also be assigned in EVERY TOURNAMENT from the first to the very last and will be awarded in accordance with the number of tables in play (the more tables, the more BB$).

4. BBO Master Points will be awarded based on the size of the field.

5. Certificates

Certificates will be awarded to the overall winners, runners up and 3rd place, so 9 in total. In addition to the certificates (which will be sent by email to the winners and will also be available on the page "Certificates" of this website), the overall winners may submit their photographs by email and these will be published on this website.
